Why would this tree start producing buckeyes after 8 years?
Q. My math professor told my class about a buckeye tree that he has in his backyard that wasn't supposed to produce buckeyes. He said it didn't for about 8 years, and then it started to produce them with inconsistent sizes. Do you know why this would happen? I don't know anything about trees!

A. He may have a red horse chestnut, a hybrid of horse chestnut and red buckeye, instead of horse chestnut (baumannii), which is sterile. These will occasionally fruit, but the fruit will be inconsistent, and probably sterile. Hope this helps...

When do breasts start producing milk?
Q. At what age do breasts start producing milk? Or does it only happen during pregnancy?
Asked by !BLURT! - Fri Oct 14 15:23:24 2011 - Women's Health - 9 Answers - Comments
A. Milk production is controlled by hormones produced by the pituitary gland NOT the reproduction system. So any woman can make milk anytime. Not just when pregnant. Pregnancy hormones help but a lot of direct nipple stimulation will get it going without a baby. Its actually good for your health and can help prevent breast cancer.

how long before the baby should you start producing breast milk?
Q. I'm 30 weeks pregnant and I was leaving school and I look down to see my shirt wet around my nipple area and I wasn't sure if maybe i drooled on myself! So I checked and it had leaked through my bra, tanktop and my outer most shirt. I haven't really heard about when I should start producing milk so I'm getting nervous that maybe I'm going to deliver early? help! Thanks

A. Leaking colostrum is perfectly normal! My dr didn't mention it to me, neither did any of my girlfriends so it freaked me out too! I asked at my next dr appt and was told that nothing was wrong and that it wasn't an indicator of early delivery. Buy some bra inserts and lay a towel down at night. Just another one of the lovely changes your body will go through this year.

A. I haven't delivered yet but I have been leaking colostrum since I was 24 weeks pregnant! I have to wear nursing pads, especially at night. But most women I know say that your milk truly comes in within 2-3 days after giving birth.

How soon does milk start producing when your pregnant?
Q. I know no one wants to hear this but one night my fiance and i were having some fun and he likes sucking on my breast's. Well this time he said that he got some kind of liquid shoot into his mouth. He told me to squeeze them and find out if i didn't believe him but when i do that all i get is little droplets of liquid not as much as he said came out when he was sucking on them. So could this be from producing breast milk or something else and if it is breast milk how soon into pregnancy does breast milk start to develop?
Asked by kat - Fri Apr 23 09:16:04 2010 - Pregnancy - 4 Answers - Comments
A. It varies from woman to woman and from one pregnancy to another. In this pregnancy I started to leak small amounts of colostrum from around 20 weeks, but in my first pregnancy it was earlier than that, around 16 weeks. Actual breast milk is not produced until a few days after you have given birth, but colostrum is like a yellow-tinged, watery sugary fluid - you baby's first food.

A. Good question. I recommend a program called FL Studio. I have been using it for years and it is still my number 1 music making program. It is excellent for house and techno music because it is loop and pattern based. You can make professional music and it is still user friendly. Download the demo from their site to try it out: If you decide to buy the program, go with the Producer Edition so you can take advantage of all the features. Also, to save you some money, here is a promotional link that will give you 10% off your order from the official website: https://support.image-line.com/jshop/shop.php?offer=Default&promo=EDAJCI416 Hope this helps. Good luck on your music!

When should you start producing breast milk in pregnancy?
Q. I am 39 1/2 weeks pregnant with my first child and I dont seem to have produced any breast milk. My breasts haven't got any bigger since being pregnant but I was big breasted to start off with (34G) so maybe if you have big breasts already they dont really grow? I dont need to ware breast pads or anything coz there's nothing leaking out! Is this normal? I intend to breastfeed but Im worried that I might not be able to.
Asked by Tells It How It Is - Wed Jan 27 09:29:00 2010 - Women's Health - 4 Answers - Comments
A. Yes hormones will automatically react after the birth, and you'll be on time to start feeding, producing milk. Then you will have pads in your bra to catch the excess. When it is your first, it is often good to have a lactation consultant. They are experts in the field, specializing in all breast feeding issues, and there are many issues.

how old are they when they start producing eggs?
Q. i want to know how old female ball pythons are when they start to produce eggs? i have a female about 800 grams and another i think around 300 or less?
Asked by random person - Thu Aug 12 21:19:09 2010 - Reptiles - 2 Answers - Comments
A. They can produce eggs at under 3 years old if they are bred. Doesn't mean they are of proper weight and age to breed, but they can. 2000 grams is recommended and a minimum of 3 years old before they are bred. Figure on the female being at least 3 years old and in good health and weight before even considering breeding. Producing eggs takes a lot out of the female and they usually stop eating a month at least before laying.

I had a c-section and it took about 3-4 days for my breastmilk to actually come in. i was getting a little nervous, but the lactation consultant told me that was normal.

A. Some women notice that they leak or can squeeze out colostrum while they are still pregnant - can happen as early as 16 weeks or not at all during pregnancy. Whether or not you get anything out while pregnant, it has no indication of your milk supply after the baby is born. It also is not harmful if the colostrum leaks out, your body will continue to make more until the baby is born and gets it. Your body will produce milk after the baby is born. You are far enough along now that even if the baby is born prematurely, your body will communicate the need for milk production. Ugh, I remember those super sore breast days during pregnancy, though. I found maternity/nursing bras helpful. The nursing bras you can use even after pregnancy. They… [cont.]

Is it true that soya can cause the male body to start producing oestrogen?
Q. I recently read that excessive soya consumption can cause males to start producing the female sex hormone oestrogen. Is this true? Im a male and I consume a lot of soya products including sauces, tofu and milk. Im slightly concerned. What is it about soya that causes this? Can this have adverse health effects for men? Whats symptoms are there? What is a safe limit for daily soya consumption? Do the adverse effects outweight the positive effects on cholesterol and so on?
Asked by wesellbunny - Wed Aug 16 10:10:11 2006 - Diet & Fitness - 9 Answers - Comments
A. No it cannot make you produce it, but soy is a natural source of estrogen. So you are literally eating a lot of estrogen. And even if you tried to avoid it you would find it hard to do. As the fda seems to approve of every company using it. Read food labels it seems to be in everything. And then they want to complain about boys being more feminine these days, what choice do they have? I once asked someone how feminine do you want your son to be? Some men complain of breast tenderness just like a woman before her period. I am not too sure on others. My acupuncturist once told me everything in moderation!

When did the first cells start producing chlorophyll?
Q. Hey in biology, please help :) We've been asked to find out when the first cells ever started to produce chlorophyll billions of years ago, and why this was.

A. We don't know. We suspect that it was before 3.5 billion years ago. The fossils we have from that time appear to be fossil stromatolites -- likely evidence of cyanobacteria mats. Cyanobacteria have chlorophyll.

When does a woman start producing milk?
Q. I am in my 36th week of pregnancy, and I have started leaking a white liquid rather than the clear liquid I had been before. I was wondering if this was still colostrum, or if it is milk. I have heard that normally women do not start producing milk until after the baby is born. Is it normal to start during pregnancy? If so, is it normally a certain number of weeks before the baby is born?
